Kim Bastaits has been a scientific researcher for 13 years with an extensive expertise in family research on parenting and child well-being after divorce. She successfully defended her PhD on the parenting of divorced fathers at the University of Antwerp in 2014. Currently, she works as a senior researcher and lecturer at the Department of Social Work from PXL University College. Her current research focusses on problematic parent-child relationships after divorce, including the loss of contact between parents and children. She has numerous publications on her name, including 19 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, 11 contributions in peer reviewed books and one forthcoming book. Furthermore, she is often invited to present her research on national and international conferences, both for academic peers and professional stakeholders.
